11.7 Maintenance and Cleaning

WARNING

•

Before cleaning the ECG cable, be sure to disconnect the monitor from the ECG

cable, or shut down the system and disconnect all power cords from the outlet.

•

If the ECG cable is damaged or aged, replace with a new one.

•

Cleaning

The exterior surfaces of the ECG cable may be cleaned with a soft cloth, dampened with the

alcohol, and then be air-dried or dried with a clean dry cloth.

•

Disinfection

Disinfection may cause damage to the equipment. We recommend the disinfection be

contained in the hospital’s servicing schedule only when necessary. The equipment should be

cleaned prior to disinfection.

Sterilization

Sterilization may cause damage to the equipment. We recommend the sterilization be

contained in the hospital’s servicing schedule only when necessary. The equipment should be

cleaned prior to sterilization.
